Who we are, where we come from, and where we're headed as a church family
Here's the deal, Crossroads cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. We are a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom. How do we do that? By intentional discipleship. Our Mission is to Make Disciples, Multiply Churches, and Mobilize Mission. One thing you'll find at Crossroads is a genuine desire to see Jesus Christ become realized not just for those who may enter our building on Sunday or mid-week, but for the people we encounter in our every day life to find the hope that comes with knowing Jesus. Matthew 28:19-20, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
On Easter Sunday of 1994, Crossroads Community Church held its first public service at Pine River Elementary School. The core group organized for several months prior to this launch date under the supervision of Colonial Woods Missionary Church in Port Huron, Michigan and the Michigan Region of the Missionary Church. We continued to hold Sunday services at Pine River Elementary. In 2002, we Moved into our new church building after 8 years of meeting next door at the school. We added our new Addition-for the children’s area allowing for additional classrooms and a nursery in 2004. In 2007 we Secured deed for the next five acres. 2010 was a big year for us as we Made the final payment on our mortgage and enjoy living debt free. In 2011 we sent our first short term missions team to Guatemala and have been sending a team every year since. In September 2015 we hired Josh Morford as our new Student Life Pastor and in January of 2018 hired Anthony Ferriell as our new Sr. Pastor.
What's the bottom line? More than ever, Crossroads is committed to seeing people come into relationship with Jesus Christ. As we move forward, our desire is to see communities of Christ followers engage the world by loving them, offering stories of hope, and living life together.
What does this mean for you? Most importantly, you're always welcome at Crossroads. We're saving a seat for you. Wherever you're at in your faith journey, you'll always be accepted as part of the Crossroads family.
